Drone Cleaning Cost UK (2026): What Affects the Price?

Published 12 August 2026Last reviewed 20 August 20265 min read

Prepared by Revolution Cleaning Ltd

There is no single UK price for drone cleaning. The cost depends on the building, the surface, the operating area and the planning needed to carry out the work safely.

Drone cleaning is quoted individually rather than from a generic public price. A site assessment is needed because the building, cleaning scope, access and operational requirements can change the work involved.

Site-specific drone cleaning quotes

We quote drone cleaning individually after assessing the building, cleaning scope, access and operational requirements. The assessment can include surface and height, building geometry, equipment, water supply, operating area, nearby public or traffic, permissions and ground controls.

A council traffic restriction is not automatically required. Where a planned operation needs vehicle or pedestrian traffic to be stopped or limited on a Liverpool highway, Liverpool City Council currently lists a planned works TTRO at £3,288. The council says a PAA reference is required and applications should generally be submitted at least 12 weeks before the proposed start date, unless a shorter date has been agreed. This is a council fee for a particular highway restriction, not a Revolution Cleaning service price.

What changes the quote

The site survey looks at the practical details that affect time, equipment, planning and ground control:

  • The building height, geometry and surface area.
  • The surface and cleaning method, including windows, cladding, signage or other external areas.
  • The type and amount of soiling, including whether this is a maintenance clean or a heavily contaminated first clean.
  • The take-off and landing area, including access to water and space for equipment where relevant.
  • Nearby roads, footways, buildings, people and the ground area needed for safe operation.
  • Airspace or site restrictions, operating hours and any traffic management or highway permissions.
  • Whether the work is a one-off clean or part of a repeat maintenance plan.

Planning costs are site specific

A CAA authorisation covers the aviation side of an operation. It does not give an operator the right to close a public footway or road. If the operating plan needs a highway restriction, that is a separate council process.

Quieter operating hours may make pedestrian and traffic management easier, but they do not change the underlying safety requirements or guarantee that a closure will not be needed. We assess this as part of the site planning rather than adding a blanket city centre charge.

Drone cleaning compared with other access methods

Drone cleaning can be a cost-effective option where the main reason for hiring access equipment is to carry out a relatively short cleaning operation. The saving varies from site to site, so we do not present a fixed percentage or a general scaffolding comparison without matching quotations for the same building and scope.

Scaffolding, a MEWP, rope access, water-fed poles or a drone may each be appropriate depending on the building, the work and the conditions. A survey is the sensible way to compare them.

Request a site survey

Send us the building address, what needs cleaning, photographs if available and any access information you already have. We will assess the site and explain the likely method, planning and price before you decide.

Request a drone cleaning site survey for a fixed quote based on your actual building.
